The HRD Division of HEC has become a rather closely knit unit over the years and due to the team assignments we have become so used to of being together, most of us end up spending late evenings in the office and it has become a trend in the last 6 years that the unit has become like a second home to most of us.
Once a colleague resigns and leaves or is promoted, it has almost become a ritual for us to pool in a little money and give him or her a befitting farewell. Come January 2009 and two of our colleagues also left us. The first being Mr. Nadeem Javed who has been working with us in the capacity of Project Manager under the ‘Overseas Scholarship Program, Phase II’ under Project Director Mr. Rana Shafiq Ahmed. A jewel of a young man who joined the HRD Division of HEC on 17th January 2007 and left HEC on 16th January 2009 after serving exactly for two years; for UK after getting a chance to strike gold under the UK-HSMP program.
The other fine individual being Bahram Qasim Jan who was working as Assistant Director under Project Director, Mr. Jehanzeb Khan and was handling the Fulbright, Partial Support and the IRSIP program. Bahram has been promoted and appointed as Senior Project Manager for the FATA / Baluchistan project and has been deputed at the HEC, Peshawar regional center.
A farewell for the above two gentleman while a welcome party for Mr. Waqas Ahmed who has also been promoted as Project Director against the FATA / Baluchistan project was arranged in the last leg of January 2009. Although Nadeem and Waqas were present on the occasion but incidentally Bahram could not make it. We wish all three the best in their new assigned jobs and future endeavors.
